Why Can't I Edit My Profile or Class Info?

If you're unable to edit your profile or class information in CharacterStrong, it's likely due to the way your district has set up rostering.



🔒 Rostering Locks Profile & Class Edits

When your school or district uses automated rostering—through Clever, ClassLink, or secure file upload—your profile and class details are synced directly from your Student Information System (SIS). This ensures accurate and up-to-date information across platforms.

As a result:

  • Profile fields like your name, email, role, and school assignment are managed by your district.
  • Class rosters, course names, and student assignments are also synced and locked for editing.

✅ This prevents manual changes that could conflict with your SIS or cause reporting issues.


What You Can Still Do

While some fields are locked, you can still:

  • View your profile and class details
  • Access and assign curriculum
  • Track and report on student progress (if enabled for your role)
  • Create your own classes



Need Something Changed?

If you notice incorrect information or need something updated, here’s what to do:

  1. Check with your district’s SIS manager or IT team.
    • Updates must be made in the SIS and will sync to CharacterStrong.
