How to Know if My District Is Rostered

Wondering whether your district uses automated rostering with CharacterStrong? Here’s how to quickly check if your school or district is rostered through Clever, ClassLink, or secure file upload.

✅ What Is Rostering?

Rostering is the process of syncing student and staff data directly from your district’s Student Information System (SIS) into CharacterStrong. When enabled, this setup:

  • Automatically creates and updates user accounts
  • Syncs class rosters and teacher assignments
  • Locks certain fields from being manually edited to ensure accuracy

🔍 How to Tell if You're Rostered

Use the checklist below to determine if your account is part of a rostered setup:

  • On your My Account page, you will have a message if you have been rostered with Clever, ClassLink or SFTP

🔒 You cannot edit your:

  • Profile details (name, email, role, school)
  • Class information (roster, course name, student list)

🔄 Your account and class data are:

  • Tier 1 Classes were automatically created or updated without you manually adding
  • Consistent with your district’s SIS

🧑‍💼 You were:

  • Assigned a CharacterStrong account without signing up manually
  • Added to the correct school/building and classes without entering them yourself

If these apply to you, your district is likely rostered!
