How do I transfer a student to a different school within my district?

Learn how to transfer a student from one school to another within your district and ensure their Tier 2/Tier 3 supports transfer correctly. This guide walks you through selecting the new school, confirming the transfer, and reassigning supports so that student progress data remains intact.

Note: Only district leads can make these changes. If you’re not the lead for your organization, connect with your district lead to help complete this step.

Steps to Transfer a Student

  1. Select Tier 2 or Tier 3 on the left hand side menu.

  2. Select Delivery Dashboard -> Tier 2 or Student Dashboard -> Tier 3.
  3. Select Students.
  4. Find the student and click on the three dots to the right of their name.

  5. Click Transfer Student.

  6. Select the school you want to transfer them to (e.g., “Honesty High”).

  7. Click Confirm Transfer. The student will now appear under the new school’s roster.

Confirming/Assigning Supports After Transfer

When a student is transferred:

  • Their supports (such as Tier 2 or Tier 3 interventions) will follow them.

  • However, the support will temporarily show as “Unassigned” until reconnected to a facilitator at the new school.

To complete the process:

  1. Go to the Support Management Dashboard - > Tier 2 or Student Dashboard -> Tier 3 at the new school.

  2. Add the same support the student was previously in (for example, “Skill Building – Calm 3–5”).

  3. Assign the student to that support and designate a facilitator.

  4. Once added, you’ll see the student’s progress monitoring and historical data appear again in that support group.

 Notes:

  • You can transfer students back to their original school if needed.

  • Data moves with the student during transfer.
